The 32nd Annual Bluebonnet Brew-Off<\/h1>\n

A note from the director for 2018:<\/h3>\n

This year we are celebrating the 32nd<\/sup> year of the Bluebonnet Brew-Off competition.
\nThe awards weekend will be held March 23rd<\/sup> – 25th<\/sup>. The Sheraton DFW <\/a>Airport hotel will host our event for the second year. Go to the Conference Info tab on our website for room rates and more details.
\nWe had a lot of success last year by moving our homebrew \u201croom crawl\u201d to Saturday night, giving our guests more opportunity to enjoy the wide list of offerings Friday night from our local breweries and distributors during the tasting event Friday night.
\nThis year’s guest and keynote speaker will be Bell’s Brewery. Bell’s Two Hearted Ale was recently voted the #1 beer in America by Zymurgy magazine, as well as their brewery. Bell’s recently entered the Texas market which, I trust, helped push them to the top.
\nThis year we will again include a \u201cHop Showcase\u201d category, where brewers can brew and enter their best version of their favorite beer using only one style of hops. Hops Direct has donated their Legacy hop to this category.
\nThe beer\/food pairing partnering with the Executive Chef at the Sheraton returns on Saturday . Seating will be limited and there is an additional charge to attend the feast. This is an experience you don’t want to miss.
\nWe will also have tech sessions, our cigar clinic as well as the pub crawl all on Saturday afternoon before the awards ceremony and homebrew \u201croom crawl\u201d. And, of course, our Big Thirsty will be offering samples of the best brews in Texas!
\nFor our brewers, the competition will open in January so dig out your favorite recipe and fire up those brew systems!
\nIt is my honor to work and be associated with such a great group of homebrewers who offer their time, hard work and determination to bring you this event. I’m looking forward to an incredible year!
