The Bluebonnet is back for 2022!
Get ready for the return of the Bluebonnet Home Brew event at the DFW Sheraton Hotel, March 18-19, 2022! Registration for the competition concluded on Monday, January 24, and judging took place throughout February. Check out the Competition section of the website for more information on the homebrew contest.
What to expect
First of all, this is a craft beer and home brew event, so you can expect lots of both! The Big Thirsty Hospitality room will be running both days, and the Commercial Beer Evaluation Clinic on Friday evening is an intimate beer festival featuring all your local favorites in one place, plus live music and a stein holding contest. Saturday features three different pub crawl busses, a 5-course paired luncheon, or sampling beers in the hospitality room.
On Saturday evening, the Bluebonnet awards ceremony will reveal the winners of the largest volunteer-run homebrew competition in the country, and then area home brew teams will begin offering their wares to sample and vote on in the People’s Choice homebrew expo, our marquee event. Some of the best home brewers in the region will be pouring beers in hopes of bringing in the top prize for their club. We’ll also have talks by keynote presenter Dr. Kristen England, our popular Brewer’s Roundtable hosted by Lakewood’s Wim Bens, as well as talks by Kelly Meyer and Barrett Tillman.
